As a teacher, you’re always looking for ways to improve the way your kids learn. One such way is to use technology. It will keep you more organized, which leaves more time for teaching. Here are some suggestions for implementing technology in your classroom:
- Ditch the over-head projector. While this used to be an important tool in the classroom, you can now find projectors that allow you to display images from your computer onto a screen for your class. This is much more effective because it is faster to put up information and easier to recall as well.
- Buy an elbow device. These handy little devices are perfect for reading stories to your class because you can project an entire page onto a screen in the front of the classroom so the kids can follow along. It also makes viewing the pictures better, too.
- Create a website for your classwork. Kids will have no excuse about not knowing what assignments are when they have access to everything through the Internet. Not only can you put up assignments, but you can also post class notes so your kids can review for tests better.
- Use online assessment tools. There is lots of software that enables you to create tests that have to be taken on the computer. This is a great idea because it saves you time correcting since the scores can be tabulated at the same time the test is being taken. You can even do oral tests through a computer by implementing a recording device.
- Use CD players with recorded books for your kids. It is easier to learn how to read when you follow along as someone else is reading, but it can be tedious to do this as an entire class.
Be on the lookout for more ways technology can improve your classroom, since new innovations come out every day.
